Poster Name: Gender-Based Violence and Response Services in the Humanitarian Setting of Cox’s Bazar

Summary: More than half of the forcibly displaced Myanmar nationals (FDMN) are women and adolescent girls, who are at high risk of GBV. This study aimed to explore the occurrence of GBV and humanitarian response services in FDMN camp. Data were collected through survey and KIIs from the camps 7&14, Ukhiya. The results state that 28.7% respondents have faced violence after they arrived in Bangladesh. Most of them noted the occurrence of physical violence (21.9%, 35/160) perpetrated by their intimate partner (71.4%). Lower response rate was reported because of the feeling of shame and stigma (86.2%). In response to GBV, GBV coordinate group provides care through three sections which cover health, psychology, social and legal domains.
